Jackie Chan mourns father's death
HONG KONG - JACKIE Chan's father, Charles, has died at a Hong Kong hospital, news reports said on Wednesday. He was 93.
The Chinese news website Sina.com said Charles Chan passed away on Tuesday. He just celebrated his 93rd birthday in December, according to his son's official website.
Jackie Chan was filming in the northeastern Chinese city of Changchun and didn't return to Hong Kong in time to see his father before he died, the Hong Kong newspaper Apple Daily reported.
A spokesman for the younger Chan didn't immediately return a reporter's call seeking comment.
Charles Chan suffered from prostate cancer before his death, according to Apple Daily.
The elder Chan will be buried alongside his late wife in Australia, where he once worked as the head cook at the US Embassy, the newspaper reported. -- AP
